Tradovate & Rithmic MCP Server: Connect AI to Your Futures Accounts

Tradovate & Rithmic MCP Server: Connect AI to Your Futures Accounts

Category: API | Date: 2026-11-07

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the standard way AI assistants such as Claude, Claude Code and Cursor connect to outside data. If your futures accounts are on Tradovate or Rithmic, connecting them directly is work: Tradovate's API needs its own API access and app setup, and Rithmic's API is a binary protocol that has to pass Rithmic's conformance testing before it can connect. Signal Trade App already holds a live connection to both, and exposes your accounts through one MCP server at https://signaltradeapp.com/api/mcp.

The server is <strong>read-only</strong>: it can read positions, orders, trades, P&L, risk and copy groups, and nothing it offers can place or cancel an order.

Connect It

Claude (claude.ai and desktop)

Settings, then Connectors, then Add custom connector. Paste <code>https://signaltradeapp.com/api/mcp</code>, click Connect, sign in to Signal Trade App and click Allow. No key to copy.

Claude Code

Run <code>claude mcp add --transport http signaltradeapp https://signaltradeapp.com/api/mcp</code>, then <code>/mcp</code> in Claude Code to sign in through your browser.

Cursor and other MCP clients

Create an API key with the read scope on the API Keys page and send it as Authorization: Bearer ts_live_... to https://signaltradeapp.com/api/mcp. The MCP server page has a copy-paste mcp.json.

Building Something That Trades?

The MCP server is deliberately read-only. To place orders from your own code, use the Signal Trade App REST API, which has trade-scoped keys and the same Tradovate and Rithmic connections, or TradingView webhooks. Orders placed on a leader account copy to its followers like any other trade.

Limits

Start a 5-day free trial, connect your Tradovate or Rithmic accounts and add the server to your assistant.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there an MCP server for Tradovate?

Signal Trade App runs one at https://signaltradeapp.com/api/mcp. It reads the Tradovate accounts you connect to Signal Trade App, so you do not need your own Tradovate API key or OAuth app.

Is there an MCP server for Rithmic?

Yes, the same server covers Rithmic accounts connected to Signal Trade App, including prop firm accounts on Rithmic.

Can the MCP server place orders?

No. It is read-only. Use the Signal Trade App REST API or TradingView webhooks to place orders.

Which AI apps can connect?

Claude on the web and desktop (custom connector with sign-in), Claude Code (sign-in through the browser), and Cursor or any MCP client that can send an API key in an Authorization header.

Does it cost extra?

No. It uses your Signal Trade App account and its normal API limits.
