Trade Risk Management

Protect every account automatically. Daily loss limits, profit targets, session locks, and manual lockout — applied at the broker level.

Signal Trade App applies risk controls directly at the broker level — not just in software. Daily Loss Limits and Daily Profit Targets are pushed to Tradovate's risk parameter API, so the broker itself stops trading the moment your limit is hit. This works even if your internet drops, your browser closes, or you step away from your desk.

On top of broker-level controls, you get manual lockout: lock any account for 1 hour, 4 hours, 24 hours, or permanently with one click — exactly like the manual lockout in ProjectX and TopstepX dashboards. Session-based locks let you automatically block trading during Asia, London, or New York sessions. When something goes wrong, the Flatten All button closes every open position across every connected account in seconds.

The biggest risk in copy trading is not a bad trade — it is a bad trade copied across ten accounts at once. Without built-in risk management, one losing streak can blow every prop firm evaluation you own. Signal Trade App applies Daily Loss Limits, Daily Profit Targets, and automatic flattening at the broker level — so your follower accounts are protected even if you forget to watch them.

Per-account copy ratios and maximum quantity limits add another layer of control. Set Follower A to copy at 50% with a max of 2 contracts, while Follower B copies at 100% with a max of 5 contracts. Even if your leader enters a massive position, followers never exceed their configured limits. This prevents oversized positions from destroying small accounts.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Daily Loss Limit (DLL)?

A Daily Loss Limit sets the maximum amount you can lose in a single trading day on a specific account. When the limit is hit, Signal Trade App automatically flattens all positions and pauses copying on that account for the rest of the day.

What is a Daily Profit Target (DPT)?

A Daily Profit Target locks in your gains for the day. When your account reaches the profit target, copying pauses and positions are flattened — so you cannot give back a winning day.

How does manual lockout work?

Go to the Risk page, find the account, and click 1h, 4h, 24h, or Permanent. The account is immediately locked — no new orders or copies will be sent to it until you unlock it or the timer expires. This is the same manual lockout feature available in ProjectX and TopstepX dashboards.

What are session-based locks?

Session locks automatically prevent trading during the Asia, London, or New York sessions. Select which sessions to block per account — useful if you only trade the New York open and want to prevent accidental trades at other hours.

What does Flatten All do?

Flatten All sends a market close order for every open position across every connected account simultaneously. Use it as an emergency stop when you need to get out of everything at once.
